The Massachusetts Republican Assembly, (MARA), which Ronald Reagan referred to as the Republican Wing of the Republican Party is calling for the resignation of the newly elected Chairman of the MA GOP Bob Maginn in the following press release:.
Nation’s Oldest & Largest Republican Volunteer Organization Seeks Immediate Resignation of Massachusetts GOP Chair, Robert Maginn.
Moderate State Committee Insiders Brace as More Revelations of Donations to Liberals by Incoming Chair Bob Maginn Surface; Conservative Base Rejects Business As Usual From GOP
Statewide, MA. January 3, 2012:
Despite early warnings from the Massachusetts Republican Assembly and Grassroots Republicans from around the state, we watched as “Big Tent” moderates on the State Committee threw caution to the wind by electing Jenzabar Executive, Robert Maginn, Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party. On the night of the November 30th Special Election, a total of 51 State Committee members rejected constituent concerns regarding substantiated claims of donations he made to radical liberals like N.Y. Democrat Chuck Schumer. Although Maginn pledged to raise campaign money to protect his supporters on the State Committee, who are expected to face stiff challenges for re-election to the MassGOP at the Presidential Primary, 21 State Committee members acknowledged Maginn's outrageous actions against the Party and chose to vote against him as Party Chairman.
“I cannot conceive of any set of circumstances under which I would contribute $2400 to Chuck Schumer!” – Frank McNamara, GOP Chair Candidate.
Massachusetts conservatives are showing even greater concern as the Boston Globe and the Springfield Republican report that Chairman Maginn maxed out on his donations to incumbent Governor Deval Patrick last year, while local Republicans from across the state expended precious resources in support of Republican candidates. Moreover, Maginn appears to be pandering to former US Representative Peter Blute and former Congressman Peter Torkildsan. Both men were awarded prominent positions at his software corporation, Jenzabar Inc. Neither of whom appears to possesses the experience or skills necessary for such appointments.
GOP Chair Pressed for Immediate Resignation
New GOP Chair Poses Threat to Brown Re-election
Following an unprecedented effort by conservative activists from around the entire country to deliver Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat to Scott Brown, Maginn’s actions are now widely viewed as a threat to Brown’s re-election bid. When Massachusetts Republicans learned that Maginn's recent donations to Deval Patrick were previously unknown, due to misspelled names on State financial reports, grassroots activists felt outrage and concern about other undisclosed contributions Maginn might have made to liberal Democrats. Fearing more damage to the Massachusetts Republican Party and Republican candidates, conservative activists immediately launched online petitions calling for Bob Maginn’s resignation.
“Good thing there is a great network of Tea Party orgs in MA that truly represent conservative, constitutional principles; And I agree with those that feel Bob Maginn should resign. A conflict of interest of this magnitude is unacceptable. The D's are eating it up - and that hurts all R's.” – C. Varley of Greater Boston Tea Party
The Massachusetts Republican Assembly shares the concerns expressed by fellow conservatives, regarding Robert Maginn's inability to serve as Chairman. We are also unapologetically committed to rebuilding the Republican Party and promoting traditional conservative values. When Republicans stand firm on conservative ideals, they succeed. That being said, the Assembly feels compelled to take a proactive stance regarding the defense of our stated values and the integrity of the MassGOP going forward.
Given the disturbing nature of recent disclosures related to Chairman Robert Maginn, the importance of defending Scott Brown’s Senate seat, and the apparent disintegration of ethics within the MassGOP, we call on Robert Maginn to immediately resign from his current position as Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party. It is imperative that the MassGOP responds to the concerns of grassroots Republicans, and eliminate controversies which will damage the campaigns of all Republican candidates.
The Massachusetts Republican Assembly also calls on all State Committee members to rapidly bring this travesty to a just conclusion.
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies is the nation’s oldest and largest Republican volunteer organization with state chapters located across the country. Our goal is to bring classic conservative ideals back to the Party platform and offer the conservative base a set of resources for local Republican advancement. We are known as:
“The Republican Wing of the Republican Party”
Thankfully there are dozens of conservative candidates running against the 51 State Committee Members who KNOWINGLY voted a Democrat supporter as Chair. I am one of them and if you live in Fall River, Westport, Rochester, Freetown/Assonet, Lakeville, Somerset or Swansea, I am asking for your vote on March 6th, 2012. You can find out more about me at www.timothysullivan4republicanstatecommittee.com or Facebook search: Timothy Sullivan for Republican State Committee.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to ask for your support of current State Committeewoman Linda Rapoza for re-election in the same towns. Linda Rapoza was one of the 21 who had the sense to vote for Frank McNamara for MA GOP Chair. Linda has always fought for conservative Republican principles and has most certainly earned my vote as she works to offer true opposition to the Democrats.
Thank you,
Timothy Sullivan
